Chocolate protein balls

All of us have some kind of snack we grab for. Maybe you’re a midnight snacker or a snack at your desk kind of snacker. Maybe you’re a stress snacker or just a happy snacker. Whenever you like to snack, a healthy snack is the best snack! That’s why I like to give people lots of snack options. These chocolate protein balls are on my list of fast, super easy to throw together snacks!

Making protein balls

Homemade protein snacks v/s storebought

It seems easier to run to the store and buy snacks, but you can make these in minutes! Snacks bought from the store can also be loaded with harmful ingredients like:

  • Natural flavors, which are not natural at all.
  • Cheap inflammatory oils like vegetable, canola, or peanut oil.
  • Monosodium glutamate or MSG.
  • Agave nectar.
  • Artificial colors or flavors.
  • Artificial sweeteners.

Chocolate protein balls

They add ingredients like these to extend shelf life, add un-natural flavors and colors, and cause us to crave their products. These ingredients are TOXIC and should be avoided by you and your family.

Making these chocolate protein balls with other ingredients

You may want to add other ingredients when you make these chocolate protein balls. I originally made these protein balls lemon in this post here. I made them for some guests with a cup of coffee and decided to make them chocolate! These could be made with other ingredients like:

  • Add some mini chocolate chips for a bit more sweetness.
  • Use walnuts or pecans in place of the almonds.
  • Drizzle some melted chocolate chips over them for extra chocolate goodness.
  • After you roll them into balls roll them in shredded coconut.
  • Add some dried cranberries or cherries.

Chocolate protein balls

These are a fast and easy way to have a healthy and quick snack. These chocolate protein balls will have you on your way to healthier eating and better choices!
